Artist Statement
I am inspired by the ancient Japanese method of firing pottery called Raku.
In addition I am experimenting with other alternative methods of firing like Saggar, Smoke, Obvara, Horsehair, Ghost feathers and Fumed all using a Raku kiln. Each method provides unique results giving my work many different looks.
