Robert Johnson

My photo composites/collages are obliquely critical, often amusing collections of gathered images of my own photographs, absurd advertising cliches, and comic book text and images. The world is such an easy target for derision. I enjoy the challenge of creating these images using the nearly 200 year old cyanotype process, printing on paper, canvas, wood, and glass. My prints are processed using only sun and water, and I occasionally alter the images with teas and plant extracts. In seeming contradiction I am inspired by New Mexican skyscapes and such they are often featured in my oil color works on canvas.
