Melinda Silver

I began my artistic career as an illustrator and graphic designer for print media; pen and ink were my best friends. During the past decade, I have expanded both my color palette and my media. In my light-filled studio you will find acrylic and oil paintings; lively watercolors; intense figure drawings; and complex paper collages. My challenge: to be still and listen to the painting and go where it takes me – moving forward until the painting is "fully baked". It is a terrifying process, but I know that this method of creation mirrors life, and has the potential to produce a final image that is more nuanced than any painting planned with precision.
