Maria Evans

As a potter, I have developed a deep sense of place in Santa Fe and much of my influence is drawn from the surrounding wilds and high desert landscapes. The studio is nestled in a wildlife preservation area along the Santa Fe river, in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The work is characterized by a simple, elegant aesthetic, and reflects my appreciation for the natural world and timeless tradition of pottery. Each piece is made by hand, and in being functional and food safe, drives my belief that art, beauty, and ritual ought to hold space in your everyday.
