Marcia Williams

My art is rooted in my need to connect with the New Mexico landscape. With my oil paints in my backpack, I follow an arroyo or a mountain stream and learn about the bones of the land I live on. As a member of a weekly plein air painting group in Santa Fe and the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, painting outdoors is the foundation of my work. I have exhibited in juried and non-juried shows, winning prizes for figurative and contemporary work. Several of my paintings have been installed as part of the New Mexico Art in Public Places program. I also paint and draw portraits - see my instagram for the latest portraits!
