Painting from life has continually been a significant part of my overall creative practice. In general, it is an opportunity for me to seek truth and beauty in nature through a celebration of light and form. The life cycle of this process is a unique exploration that manifests as a formal representation of my perceptual awareness combined with abstract understanding and emotional empathy. With these intentions always at heart, painting can be a spontaneous and athletic event for me. I see the work as a relic of that time and presence spent within the process - light and form is the language for this connection.
