Artist Statement
I am inspired by life and the experience of living, I create because it's what I am called to do. To bring forth the visions that inspire, agitate and inform is a mission that I engage in with tenacity and appreciation. I am passionate about the world that sustains our fragile existence as well as our part as guardians and stewards of nature.
I create utilizing all techniques, at times with a single medium and others combining a multitude. I combine stone sculpting, portrait painting, silversmithing and videography, drawing, screen print etc. I believe doing the work of the imagination has no limits in medium or expression.
I tend to portray themes based in my Native ancestry as I feel more aligned with a belief that sees the world through eyes of respect and sacred connection. In my work, the empowerment of women and inclusion of animals is predominant as well as social commentary on the corruption of man.
The first Artist I knew was my grandmother, though she never sought to put her work on display, she was consistently painting at home. which had a big impact on me and still inspires me today.
