Albert Handell Bio, www.alberthandellstudio.com Albert Handell, one of the nation’s foremost impressionist artists, lives and paints in his adopted city, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Originally known internationally for his works in the pastel medium, in 1987 the Pastel Society of America, N.Y.C., elected him to the Pastel Society of America’s Hall of Fame, making him, at that time, one of three living American artists so honored. In 2007 the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio, honored Mr. Handell by giving him a Retrospective Exhibition of his pastels, and accepting two of his pastels into their permanent collection. He paints smaller on location with pastels…. During the winter months he paints larger works with oils in his studio. This seasonal changeover keeps Handell ‘fresh’. His oils and pastels are in numerous museums and corporate collections. Albert is a Master in oils and pastels in many organizations including OPA and PSA.
