Liz Penniman

I offer glimpses of familiar elements, like the contours of a traveler’s blanket, and invite curiosity without locking the artwork into a narrative. Color emerges subconsciously, influenced by the temperature of a subject. The viewer’s attention moves across the surface, drawn in by both identity and abstraction. My reasons are ready massed, cohesive, and continually shifting, I am keeping it all together. With a mountain inside of me, a moving bulwark of peace-loving parts slowly being carved away the softest parts turning to silt, this headland surrounded by the waters of peace and indifference.
