Dane Rinzler’s jewelry invites you to engage in an exploration of the nexus between high fashion, conceptual art, and technology through a neurodivergent looking glass. From a young age, Dane was fascinated with jewelry and the stories it tells. Going to jewelry stores with his parents, being mesmerized by gemstones and metals, Dane’s passion for jewelry ignited his imagination. As a young person with ADHD and dyslexia, the self-regulating comfort of fidgeting has been a major part of Dane’s life. With the introduction of his first collection, Dane sought to elevate functional jewelry to high concept art, creating not just movement and beauty, but a narrative of the senses. Dane believes the most important part of his work is the relationship between the jewelry and the person wearing it. What does it mean to you? How does it change with you? How does it make you feel? And what story does it help you tell? This collection presents a series of wearable pieces that function simultaneously as luxury adornments and tactile instruments of mindfulness. The pieces are a nuanced commentary on the zeitgeist of contemporary youth culture, articulated through the lens of three interconnected themes: Movement, Sound, and Weight. Each piece serves as a physical manifestation of these abstract concepts, challenging preconceived notions of jewelry's form and function.
